A message from the president of UAH.

Dear UAH Community,

I want to thank everyone once again for the diligence you are displaying on campus by actively following the UAH Return to Campus Guidelines. Well done! I also want to remind you to carry this same attention to detail with regard to following health and safety guidelines if you leave campus during the Labor Day weekend.

Thus far the UAH Community has done a fantastic job of preventing the spread of the virus here on campus. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to continue to make the practice of safe and responsible behaviors a habit and priority during this upcoming holiday. COVID-19 spiked dramatically across Alabama after the Memorial Day and July 4 holidays. A similar spike after Labor Day could be devastating to our fall semester.

It is vitally important that we continue to always follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid crowds, especially where 6 feet of social distancing cannot be maintained
  • Wear a face covering indoors and outside where appropriate
  • Minimize your in-person interactions to those who are in your close social circle
  • Avoid areas where you may have an increased risk of exposure, such as where community spread is increasing; alter your travel plans to avoid those areas

Remember that what you do has far reaching consequences for others. While it is not easy to make these temporary sacrifices, we must continue to do so while this public health crisis persists.

It is our goal to ensure your safety and the health of others, while also continuing to provide you the opportunity to utilize on-campus resources and to enjoy the high-quality educational experience provided by UAH.

With your help, we can do exactly that.

So, have fun, but also enjoy your holiday responsibly by being safe and aware. It has never been truer that we are all depending on you. Together, we can do this! Thank you for making safety a priority and being a role model for our campus and community.

Charge on!
