Dr. Hassan Naqvi

Biography

Hassan is currently working as Director, Digital Health Innovation, within the Oncology Business Unit. In this role, Hassan focuses on integrating and executing on digital health strategy across TAs within the oncology context.

With 15 years of experience in managing the commercialization of novel technologies, primarily in academia, Hassan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. Hassan received his undergraduate degree in biology from George Washington University in Washington DC and his Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin.

Previously, Hassan was Director of Corporate Partnerships at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures – the corporate venturing arm of Johns Hopkins University (JHU) where he focused on managing and commercializing technologies as well as building research collaborations in the life sciences and medical device arenas. Prior to JHU, Hassan was leading commercialization efforts in healthcare IT, imaging, therapeutics, diagnostics as well as for the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center at Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Hassan was at Cleveland Clinic Innovations managing technologies in the life science and medical device spaces.

Hassan currently serves in several advisory roles to industry organizations such as BIO and AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers). A member of the program committee for the BIO International Convention, Hassan focuses on digital health programming for the meeting. Hassan also leads the Annual Meeting programming committee for the AUTM Annual Meeting Hassan is also a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) and serves as part of the Ethics and Appeals Committee at CLP.

Hassan lives in Ellicott City, MD with his family – his spouse Malika and their two kids – Khadija, age 13 who aims to one day be an animator with Pixar and Qasim, age 9 who aspires to be a cowboy, astronaut and surgeon – all rolled into one. The Naqvi family enjoys hiking and biking in the national parks and hope to visit every country in the world.
