I2C Innovation Mentors are subject matter experts, gurus, doers, advisors, folks who want to genuinely connect, contribute and be a pivotal resource to our companies and entrepreneurs. They are enablers of innovation, entrepreneurship and “getting it done”!

Our Innovation Mentors are available to all I2C virtual / resident companies and faculty / students looking to take their idea forward.

Ryan is an Associate Professor of English, the Director of Business and Technical Writing, and the Director of UX Programs at UAH. He received his PhD from Purdue University in 2009 and also taught in the Penn State system.

At UAH, he teaches courses in technical communication, proposal writing, user research, and science communication. His research interests include entrepreneur communication and scientific rhetoric, and his work has appeared in IEEE: Transactions in Professional communication, Science Communication, Technical Communication Quarterly, and many other journals.

In 2014, he participated in a team that won funding from the Alabama Launchpad competition.
