T2 Typological Towers

Photography student Nick Lavenant’s BFA exit show explores ”typology photography”, a suite of images or related forms shot in a consistent, repetitive manner. His digital photograph’s subject is cell towers. These ubiquitous structures function to digitally connect us and are used every day. They can also be physical landmarks that some people see as eyesores so that some builders, architects, and designers try to make them blend into the landscape. These towers seem uniform, but on closer examination have many small differences. The artist’s beautifully composed images will draw the viewer in to examine how the structures may look alike, but that no two are ever the same.

On view in the UAH Salmon Library Gallery from March 9 - March 22.
