Course Overview
The Forge (MGT 496) is offered every Fall and Spring semester and is open to students from all majors with no prerequisites.
While any student may enroll, the course is recommended for junior- and senior-level students, who are typically best positioned to apply what they learn and maximize the experience.
Course Format
The course is delivered in a hybrid format. With a few exceptions, students meet in person on Wednesdays from 1:00–2:20 p.m. for milestone gate reviews throughout the semester.

- Week 1: Idea Presentation & Team Formation
- Week 5: Deep Dive Discovery Gate – Problem Validation
- Week 8: Ignite Innovative Ideas – Initial Wide Ideation
- Week 10: Ignite Innovative Ideas Gate – Solution Validation
- Week 14: Product Prove Perform Gate – Prototype Validation
- Week 16: Final Presentations
