(Jim) Leary is Senior Director, Weapon Systems Business Development, within the Space, Intelligence, & Weapon System Business unit of Boeing Defense, Space & Security. He is responsible for business development and strategy, integration and implementation of customer engagements and business growth for domestic and international weapons campaigns to include direct attack munitions, cruise missile systems, ballistic missile defense systems, long-range precision fires, integrated air and missile defense, directed energy weapons, and Phantom Works advanced weapons portfolios. Leary joined Boeing in 2014 and has more than 30 years of program management, business development, sales and strategy experience with both the private sector and U.S. Department of Defense. He has specialized expertise in missile and weapons system requirements, joint military operations and strategic plans and policy and has experience with all U.S. combatant commands and associated geographic areas of operations. During his military career, Leary lead Soldiers in several tactical commands across the U.S. Army to include the 7th Infantry Division (light), 101st Airborne Division, 25th Infantry Division (light), and the 82nd Airborne Division. He has numerous staff tours at the Pentagon with the Army G3 and G8 as well as the Joint Staff J3, J5, and J8. Leary has three combat tours which included commanding a battalion task force of the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan. In addition, he is an Army Jumpmaster, Ranger and Pathfinder. A highly decorated veteran, Leary has been awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in public administration from Elon University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.
