The lighting studio is taught in the Digital I class, which is a contemporary photography class that introduces lighting techniques. The lighting equipment consists of Alien Bee lights and light modifiers. Two fixed backdrop areas and portable studio lighting for on-location shoots.
In addition to our Animation Lab, the Department of Art, Art History, and Design has a Performance Capture & Lighting Lab located in Roberts Hall 406. The studio features:
- 16-camera optical motion capture system capable of capturing two simultaneous actors
- Two head-mounted facial capture systems
- Mocap and real-time visualization software
