Nominate a UAH faculty member who positively impacted your educational and professional careers! Don’t miss your chance to nominate a Professor Who Made a Difference! In partnership with The University of Alabama in Huntsville Alumni Association, the Office of Academic Affairs is accepting nominations for the inaugural 2026 Professors Who Made a Difference Award. Great faculty are exceptional people! They stimulate our minds, encourage and challenge us, support us, and inspire us to become outstanding professionals! This is an opportunity to recognize and thank them. Both currently enrolled students and UAH alumni may submit nominations. To be eligible, nominees must: Have served at UAH for At least the past three (3) years as a full-time faculty member, or Each of the past three years and at least six semesters as a part-time instructor Demonstrate genuine commitment to student learning, development, and success Show excellence in teaching, mentoring, or advising that positively impacts students' academic journey or career path Go beyond standard expectations to invest in individual student growth and achievement Have not been a recipient of this award within ten (10) years. To nominate someone, you will be asked to respond to a small number of prompt questions intended to help understand the nominee’s contributions. What is your relationship to the nominee? Describe a specific moment or series of interactions where this faculty member's guidance fundamentally changed your approach to learning, your academic goals, or your career aspirations. How did this individual demonstrate commitment to your growth beyond their typical teaching or advising responsibilities? What lasting impact has their teaching or mentorship had on your academic journey? Nominations must be submitted no later than February 27, 2026. Up to four (4) faculty members will be recognized for outstanding teaching and mentoring with a plaque and cash award. Recipients will be selected by a committee consisting of members appointed by the UAH Alumni Association's Board of Directors and representatives of the Office of Academic Affairs.
