The University of Alabama College of Nursing and Nursing/Medical Community of Huntsville have partnered to present a diverse nursing educational opportunity for registered nurses and nurse practitioners. Faculty and clinical leaders in the community will lecture on topics of interest to nurses in today's complex medical environment. Pharmacological treatments are the focus of the multiple topics.

This event will be held from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday August 25th 2012 in the Chan Auditorium, located in the Business Administration building on the campus of the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Program Objectives:

Upon completion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Describe diagnosis and treatment plans of MRSA, Diabetes, Palliative Care, and Osteoporosis.
  • Discuss Professional to professional handoff reporting.
  • Differentiate issues in elderly pharmacotherapy.
  • Outline steps used in radiation treatment.
  • Explore pharmacogenomics.
