Biography

Danielle Ford, DNP, RN, OCN, attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and earned a Bachelor’s,  Master’s, and Doctorate degree in Nursing. Currently, she serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in UAH's undergraduate nursing program. She has been a Certified Oncology nurse at Huntsville Hospital for 18 years. Danielle is passionate about educating anyone who will listen about cancer prevention and understanding different ailments. Danielle serves as the President of the Oncology Nurses of North Alabama Board and enjoys curating educational programs for healthcare staff. She has participated in research grants where she explored barriers to Lung Cancer screening in the African American community of North Alabama. Danielle is passionate about closing the gap and being a bridge between her community and healthcare resources. Danielle focused her DNP project titled “Bridging the Gap: Evaluating a Community Food Distribution Center and Its Impact on Food Security and Access” on addressing social determinants of health in vulnerable populations and the uptake of available resources.  Danielle was nominated for the UAH Alumni Achievement Award, 2025 Sigma’s Rising Star, and 2025 UAH College of Nursing Honors Scholar Award.  She has also been fully engaged in professional activities, including publishing an article in the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing and Frontiers of Health.  Danielle has presented abstracts, posters, and podium presentations at several academic venues, including the FACES conference, Sigma’s Biennial Conference, and Sigma’s  Nursing Scholarship Conference at Auburn University, to name a few. As a gifted communicator, Danielle excels in her God given purpose of formulating connections for those in need. She passionately touts that she knows somebody who knows somebody! Although Danielle has devoted much of her time to nursing, she is most proud of being a wife to her husband of 20 years, and a loving mother to her three sons and one daughter.
