Biography

Dr. Holly Powe is an Instructor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is also senior full-time faculty at Calhoun Community College. During her 20 years with Calhoun, she has served in several capacities, including choral conductor, music area coordinator, and for seven years, Fine Arts Department Chair. She has a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of Alabama, summa cum laude, a Master of Education in Music from Alabama A&M University, and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Alabama. She is a guest conductor and soloist at special events, festivals, and church services throughout the Southeast. She was a member of both the Moses Hogan Chorale and the Moses Hogan Singers, with whom she toured Europe twice and recorded several albums. She has won competitions sponsored by the National Association of Teachers of Singing and has been a frequent adjudicator at local, state, and regional festivals in both classical and popular genres.
