Biography

Charlotte “Charlie” Daugherty is a percussionist and music educator from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Her responsibilities at UAH include teaching percussion applied lessons, percussion ensemble, and steel band ensemble.

Charlie enjoys a wide range of opportunities as a performer, educator, and student. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Alabama, where she is the full-time teaching assistant for the UA percussion studio. She also holds the percussion faculty position at Stillman College, is the music ensemble coordinator for Audio Theater (WGI), is on the percussion staff at The Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps (DCI), and is the co-chair for the Percussive Arts Society University Student Committee.

Earning her BM in music education from Kent State University and her MM in percussion performance from Middle Tennessee State University, Charlie would like to thank her many diverse mentors across all three of her current and previous institutions that include but are not limited to: Dr. Andrew Lynge, Dr. Brian Mueller, Lalo Davila, Julie Davila, Russell Wharton, Dr. Matt Holm, Dr. Janine Tiffe, and Cameron Leach.
