Charger Lore Icons Food & Entertainment Signature Events 4.0 Night Taking place during Homecoming Week, 4.0 night honors those student-athletes that excel in the classroom while being the ultimate competitors in their respective sport. Admitted Students Day Admitted Student Day is a great resource for all things about the campus. Students will have conversations with other admitted students, speak to representatives from Financial Aid and Housing, and learn more about the city that UAH calls home. Athletics Hall of Fame The UAH Athletics Hall of Fame enshrines former student-athletes, coaches, and administrators for their extraordinary accomplishments and contributions as a Charger. Battle of the Buffalo Taking place in Big Spring Park, the annual philanthropic chicken wing festival hosted by UAH’s Alpha Tau Omega chapter raises money for cancer research. It has raised over $400,000 since 2009. Black History Month UAH celebrates Black History Month with an evolving annual program that highlights the contributions of African-Americans in the region. This lecture invites cultural leaders to share insights and create a healthy dialogue with guests. Career Fairs UAH Career Fairs are held once at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. With more than 130 companies participating, they are a great opportunity for current students and alumni to make connections with the growing professional community in the Tennessee Valley. Charger TIPOFF Are you ready for some basketball? Charger TIPOFF is the highly-anticipated official kickoff to the Charger basketball season. The Men’s and Women’s Basketball coaches introduce their respective teams to the community in preparation for the upcoming season. ChargerCON ChargerCON is UAH’s annual gaming convention that welcomes all video game enthusiasts, pop culture fans, trading card game devotees, and more to campus. ChargerCON features video game tournaments, an art festival & a cosplay contest. Commencement UAH is excited to celebrate all graduating students with a memorable commencement ceremony. Honors Day Honors Day celebrates the extraordinary academic achievements of our students at UAH. Each college hosts separate events to recognize students who excel academically, including those inducted into honor societies and who have attained excellence in scholastic programs throughout the academic year. Military & Veterans (MVP) Appreciation Night Military & Veterans Appreciation Night honors past and present contributions of service members to the country at a UAH Basketball game. The event is an important one because of the large and impactful military community in the area. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Breakfast UAH honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through a Leadership Breakfast. Each year, the program delivers a pertinent and compelling message to the community that focuses on the leadership ideals promoted by Dr. King. Let's Pretend Hospital Let's Pretend Hospital (LPH) is a program designed for first grade students to help reduce the fear and anxiety they may experience in the hospital or ER. The annual event is staged by all UAH nursing students as an important project for their studies and future nursing roles. North Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair (NARSEF) The North Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair (NARSEF) provides 6th – 12th grade students from multiple North Alabama counties the opportunity to showcase their research projects to experts in various professional fields on the UAH campus. Business of Space Conference The Business of Space Conference at UAH provides a platform for meaningful conversations to drive innovation and future policies within the new space economy. Join key leaders as they share insights and tackle challenges of this rapidly growing sector. The Mayor’s Cup UAH and Alabama A&M University partner in this cross-town rivalry to showcase the institutions’ talented athletes while creating buzz around the upcoming basketball seasons and intercollegiate athletics in the city. The Sapphire Excellence Awards The UAH Sapphire Excellence Awards is an annual initiative honoring the outstanding achievements of alumni, partners and supporters who advance the university and its impact locally and beyond. Von Braun Symposium As part of a proud partnership with the American Astronautical Society (AAS), the Von Braun Exploration Symposium (VBS) is hosted each year on the UAH campus.
