Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice: works on countless projects and initiatives and with different forms of advocacy year-round to ensure that immigrants are given a chance to prosper and succeed. Assortment of Assistance Community Action Plan: Children's Services, Energy Assistance, Affordable Housing, etc. Community Action Partnership Huntsville/Madison & Limestone Counties, Inc.: (CAPHMLC) is a certified Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Counseling agency that helps families achieve numerous housing outcomes by providing the following services: Financial Literacy Education, Credit Counseling, Budget Counseling, First-Time Homebuyers Education, Delinquent Mortgage/Foreclosure Counseling, Emergency Rental Assistance, Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing. The program also addresses homelessness and at-risk for homelessness individuals/families to help them either regain stability in their current housing location or transition as quickly as possible into permanent housing. Through one-on-one and group counseling sessions, CAPHMLC’s certified housing counselor(s) assist the families served in making the best decisions to help improve their financial capacity and obtain/maintain a safe, decent, and affordable place to live. The North Alabama Center for Educational Excellence (NACEE): Encourages and assists participants in northern Alabama counties and portions of southern Tennessee who are traditionally under-represented in postsecondary education because of income, family educational background, disability, or other relevant federal, state/provincial, or institutional criteria. Thrive Alabama: offers adult primary healthcare and pediatrics, case management, nutrition counseling, interpretation services, and sexually transmitted infection healthcare. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, and private insurance. Eligible patients can receive service at a reduced cost based on a sliding fee scale.
