One of the most defining moments in my career as an educator occurred when a struggling student who had been at risk of failing graduated and later returned to thank me for believing in them.
One of the most defining moments of my college experience was meeting a professor who challenged me to think critically and believe in my abilities. Their mentorship helped me grow academically and professionally, and it inspired me to become the type of educator who encourages students to reach their full potential.
Awarded the 2001 Helmer Teacher Award at the United States Air Force Academy

While in college, I faced the challenge of balancing coursework and employment.. Learning to manage these competing demands taught me resilience, time management, and perseverance. These experiences have helped me better understand the challenges many students face and have influenced my approach to supporting diverse learners.
