Admission Requirements for Atmospheric Earth Science
APPLY FOR GRADUATE ADMISSION
In addition to fulfilling admission requirements set by Graduate School, applicants must also have
1.a. Three semesters of calculus including the calculus of vector-valued functions, basic (ordinary) differential equations, and two semesters of calculus-based physics. Linear algebra is recommended. (MS AES/ATS and PhD ATS)
b. Two semesters of calculus, and two semesters of calculus-based physics. (MS AES/ESS)
c. Two semesters of calculus, and two semesters of calculus-based physics. Undergraduate course in Remote Sensing recommended. (Graduate GIS and Remote Sensing Certificate)
2. Demonstrable computer proficiency in at least one high-level programming language.
3. Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on the undergraduate record.
4. Three letters of recommendation are required. Letters should be from instructors, capstone advisors, or project managers who can attest to your knowledge, skills, and abilities. Letters should be submitted via the graduate school application, but can also be sent to aes-chair@uah.edu.
5. A personal statement is also required.

- For priority consideration of a graduate research assistantship (GRA) or graduate teaching assistantship (GTA), apply on or before January 15 (For Fall start).
