UPDATE: Due to the threat of inclement weather, the Spring Open House has been canceled. If you would like information about courses or OLLI in general, please visit of call during regular business hours. You can register for classes anytime on the OLLI website.
Looking for new ways to expand your horizons in 2025? Check out the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (OLLI at UAH) at its spring open house on Friday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event, open to the public free of charge, will be held in the lobby of Wilson Hall on the campus of UAH, a part of The University of Alabama System.
The open house is a great opportunity to meet OLLI members, instructors and staff as well as learn more about spring semester plans, including courses, bonus lectures, special events and member interest groups. OLLI is open to ages 50 and up.
“We are excited for our upcoming spring semester with over 60 courses, such as ‘Mary, Queen of Scots,’ ‘Mat Pilates for Beginners,’ ‘Inside the Alabama State House,’ and ‘Elder Law’,” says Clay Williams, OLLI program manager. “There is no doubt there is a class here for everyone."
Spring semester will also offer an exploration of Alabama’s cranes and caves – but not in the same course – plus a history of cryptology, German stories, and an examination of jealousy through Shakespeare’s “Othello.” All these and more will be highlighted at the open house. You can enter to win door prizes, too.
