Biography

TSgt Alexis Serrano serves as the Noncommissioned Officer and Assistant Professor for Air & Space Studies, at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Air Force ROTC, Detachment 012A. He organizes military training events for Air and Space students and is tasked with educating cadets in general military and professional officer courses on Air and Space Force policies and regulations, preparing them for commissioning as 2nd Lieutenants in the United States Air Force.

TSgt Serrano was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, a military hub that influenced his lifelong commitment to service. In August 2000, TSgt joined the U.S. Air Force, serving until 2007 as a KC-135R Aviation Maintenance Technician. During this period, he deployed multiple times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, maintaining critical air refueling aircraft under intense operational demands. These experiences sharpened his technical expertise, and solidified a steadfast sense of duty in high-stakes missions vital to national security.

In 2010, TSgt Serrano transitioned to the U.S. Army, embracing the challenges of Special Operations as an Airborne Infantryman. He completed Airborne Jump School, and the grueling Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, earning a coveted spot in the 75th Ranger Regiment, and earning the prestigious Tan Beret. With the 75th Ranger Regiment, he deployed to Afghanistan, executing missions involving the capture of high-value targets. He later served as a Team Leader at a Stryker and Bradley fighting vehicle leadership course, supporting training for future leaders. Serrano’s distinguished career across the Air Force, and Army showcases an unwavering dedication to excellence in the most demanding military roles.
