Biography

Bernard Avenatti has had a technical presence in North Alabama for more than a decade. He has performed several roles (Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developer, Cyber Assurance, Cyber Researcher, and Quality Assurance) for adaptive software projects throughout their lifecycle within Healthcare, Utilities (Nuclear and Gas), and the Department of Defense. Presently, Mr. Avenatti is teaching Cybersecurity for Systems Engineering and Cyber Economics at Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering (ASCTE).

He holds a B.S. in Information Systems, M.S. in Cybersecurity, and is presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Information Science. Mr. Avenatti holds numerous certifications including PMP, CISSP, CISM, AIE, CEH, Security+ CE, CAPM, and CSM. He is a member of several organizations including Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Cyber Security & Information Systems Information Analysis Center (CSIAC), OWASP, FBI InfraGard, (ISC)², ISACA, and Project Management Institute (PMI). He loves technology and mentoring. His belief is that technical excellence is predicated on the application of commonsense and diligence in obtaining technical prowess.
