Cine-Bites
The UAH Film and Media Arts (FMA) program is excited to announce the upcoming screening of the short film, The Greater Good, which will be featured in the second “Cine-Bites” event on campus in Morton 145 on Thursday, December 5 from 5-6pm. The event is free and open to the public.
The “Cine-Bites” events are designed to showcase student and independent filmmakers in the region. “Students and indie creators need outlets to network, share their work, and get feedback. My hope is that these events will strengthen relationships in the region between UAH and regional artists,” says Dr. Watson.
The Greater Good is a science-fiction short film. When a pair of former NASA scientists make a startling discovery that could change the world for the better, they will have to contend with the forces that benefit from this world just the way it is. The film has been enjoying the indie festival circuit, having been selected for screening at The Oscar Micheaux Black Film Fest, the Black Film Fest of Atlanta, and our own Rocket City Short Festival in Huntsville. It was written and directed by Tobias Elmore, a local writer and director from Birmingham and was produced by UAH alum Chad Burkhardt. More information about the film can be found here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20770358/
Following the screening, there will be a short discussion with the filmmakers about the challenges and process of making the movie. For more information and details, please contact Dr. Joey Watson, jaw0087@uah.edu
