UAH Communication Arts Major (Public Relations Concentration), Marilyn Snyder, interned with Radiance Technologies this summer. In her own words, Marilyn reflects on her internship experience, sharing how her education in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences equipped her with the knowledge and skills to make meaningful contributions while advancing her professional development.
About Marilyn’s Internship Experience
“During my internship with Radiance Technologies, I gained hands-on experience in marketing and strategic communication. I helped with photography, event coordination, graphic creation, social media captions, and database creation. Some of the projects I worked on included company events, business cards, flyers, and social media content. This internship helped me gain new professional skills and gave me a better understanding of what it takes to work within a large company. Overall, the experience confirmed that I want to pursue a career in public relations and strategic communication.”
How Marilyn’s CAHS Education Helped
“My education so far at CAHS helped prepare me for many of the tasks I completed during my internship. In Intro to Journalism, I learned how to write in a more professional and journalistic style, which helped me when writing social media captions. Foundations of Human Communication helped me feel more confident when communicating with employees from different departments. Intro to Public Relations also prepared me by giving me experience with Canva, professional writing, and communication strategies. I believe the knowledge and skills I gained through my CAHS classes are a major reason why I was able to excel during my internship.”
