Biography

Dr. Che received her Ph.D in physics from University of Maryland, College Park, in 2009. Then she worked as a postdoc in University of Colorado, Boulder for two years. In 2011 she moved to Goddard Flight Center in Maryland. In 2014 she became a research scientist in UMD. She joined UAH in 2019 as an assistant professor in space science.

She received the NASA postdoc fellowship in 2011. She received the Inaugural Rene Pellat Memorial Festival Prize, CEA, France in 2017 for her contribution to the fundamental understanding of nonlinear kinetic turbulence in space plasma. In 2019 she received the Inaugural Heliophysics Career award for her original research in magnetic reconnection and nonlinear kinetic instabilities and the applications in helio- and solar physics.
