Dr. Ana Wooley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (ISEEM) at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Dr. Wooley joined UAH's ISEEM Department in 2023, right after graduating from her PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University. She holds a Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the same institution.
She is an expert in modeling and simulation of manufacturing systems, with a particular focus on automotive manufacturing systems. Her past relevant work is in Digital Twin development and simulation development of the manufacturing line of leading automotive companies, such as Honda, and capabilities comparison between Digital Twins and Simulation in cyber-physical systems. Her diverse industry experience spans over three years, during which she has successfully improved manufacturing processes and procedures in various sectors, including energy, education, and automotive.
Dr. Wooley’s current research focuses on Digital Twin development, smart manufacturing, simulation, and seamless integration of these technologies into manufacturing systems. Alongside her research endeavors, she actively imparts knowledge in simulation and manufacturing through her teaching role, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
She holds a Green Belt Certification and a Graduate Certificate of Automotive Manufacturing systems from Auburn University. She speaks frequently at national meetings, conferences, and conventions and she serves as an advisor for the Society of Women in Engineering (SWE) at UAH.
