The Project
The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is engaging in a transformational project on Greek Row. Constructed in 2006, UAH added six sorority and fraternity houses to the campus, made possible by generous gifts from Mark and Linda Smith and Jim and Susie Hudson. Today, sorority and fraternity life continues to grow at UAH with 15 chapters located on the campus. Alumni from many organizations have asked for monuments and other features to be added to the campus to explain the vibrant Greek life community. Now, it is time to expand community engagement opportunities for all students using this area.
The Location
Greek Row is on the south side of campus near the Fitness Center. Located on John Wright Drive, the current grassy area in front of the six sorority and fraternity houses will be where the renovation will occur.

The Open-Air Plaza
The grassy area within Greek Row will be modified into a gathering spot for all students to enjoy. It will have pavilions and other structures to provide shading and seating. The landscaping will also add a tranquil experience to the area.
The estimated cost for the entire project is $4 million. The conceptual views of the Greek Row Renovation Project renderings are subject to change. All projects are subject to the approval of The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees.
Naming Opportunities
There are naming opportunities for particular aspects of the project. University Development will work with donors.
Coming Soon! The option to buy individual pavers with member’s names and organizations will be introduced once the Greek Row Renovation Project has been fully funded.
