Create Solutions to Real-World Problems!

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology is an applied program that allows students to explore the integration of engineering principles and modern technology.

Graduates will use their math, science and engineering skills to design products and systems, install and maintain products, and provide a wide range of services, such as implementation of the design, testing, calibration and supervision of its operation. (American Society for Engineering Education)

Is Engineering Technology the right choice for you?

  • Do you enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together?
  • Do you see yourself working hands-on with equipment and materials?
  • Do you spend time figuring out how to build and test your ideas?

If you want a career that is hands-on, where you apply math and scientific concepts, engineering technology is a good choice for you!

Program Advantages:

  • Choose from 5 start dates per year.
  • Enjoy flexible schedules. (evening classes available)
  • Take courses online, in the classroom, or a combination of both.
  • Apply transfer credits for up to 75% of your degree.

Program Educational Outcomes:

Graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology degree are expected to obtain the following skills within 5-10 years after graduation.

  • Be recognized for their abilities in real-world problem solving through application of critical thinking and engineering technology principles.
  • Model professional and ethical and high integrity in professional settings.
  • Lead and support team goals through effective communication.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Upon attaining a BSET degree students are expected to be able to :

  • Apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;
  • Design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;
  • Apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature;
  • Conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes; and
  • Function effectively as a member as well as a leader on technical teams.

Why Engineering Technology?

The degree is Engineering Technology, the career is engineering.™

  • Coursework focuses on the application of theory.
  • Graduates spend more time hands on solving problems and less time sitting still.
  • The degree requires fewer math courses and includes more project based learning. (Calculus I with both integral and differential calculus is required.  Statistics is also required and any additional math is covered inside the ET curriculum).
