Biography

Pamela Manasco is a lecturer in the English department at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Primarily a poet, she was the recipient of a 2024 Alabama State Council on the Arts poetry fellowship and the winner of The Midwest Quarterly's 2024 Stephen Meats Poetry Contest. Her poetry has been published in Prairie Schooner, Identity Theory, Kitchen Table Quarterly, Rattle, and others, and her poems have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. Her poetry collection Small and Endangered Creatures was a finalist for The Louisville Review's National Poetry Book Contest and a semifinalist for The Aerie Prize.

Her creative nonfiction has been published in McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Elle, and Strange Horizons, where she also served as an articles editor for four years. An occasional dramatist, she has contributed several one-act plays to Theatre Huntsville's Rocket City Playwrights' Contest, winning in 2022 for Speed Dating for the Recently Deceased.
