The UAH Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, and Global Ties Alabama (formerly The International Services Council of Alabama) will sponsor a public talk by equal pay activist, Lilly Ledbetter on Friday, Aug. 26, at 5:30 p.m., Chan Auditorium. Ledbetter's visit to campus is in observance of International Women's Equality Day. Ledbetter took her equal pay fight to the U.S. Supreme Court. On Jan. 29, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act into law.
