Classes are only part of the college experience. In today's competitive job market students who have experience beyond the classroom have an advantage. Student organizations offer a way to network, gain professional leadership experience, and have a good time. The psychology department hosts a chapter of Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology, as well as a Psychology Club. Both clubs promote educational, service, and social activities, having events within each of these categories each semester. Psi Chi The faculty advisor to Psi Chi, Dr. Jodi Price, evaluates student eligibility at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. Students (sophomore or higher standing) who have declared their major or minor as psychology and have taken at least 9 hours of psychology courses, maintaining a 3.0 GPA in Psychology courses and an overall GPA in the top 35% of their class (sophomore, junior, or senior), receive invitations to join. All students who choose to join Psi Chi are inducted in the spring semester during a formal induction ceremony.
