Master of Arts in History

Explore the past, prepare for your future. Develop new skills or enhance old ones while studying history at UAH. Whether you want to teach, work outside the classroom, or just know more about world cultures, a master's degree from UAH will get you there.

Applicants for graduate study in history must present a satisfactory undergraduate scholastic record and satisfactory GRE scores on the aptitude portion of the examination. Each applicant must:

  • Have a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 or at least 3.0 for the last 60 hours of work
  • Score at least 300 on the GRE and a 3.0 on analytical writing
  • Have an undergraduate major in history or sufficient coursework as determined by the departmental graduate committee
