ChenThe Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering and the College of Engineering is very pleased to announce that CME Professor and Chair Chien-Pin (CP) Chen has been elected Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).  To be selected for the grade of Associate Fellow, an individual must be an AIAA Senior Member with at least twelve years professional experience and be recommended by a minimum of three current Associate Fellows. Each year, the Institute recognizes exemplary professionals for their accomplishments in engineering or scientific work, outstanding merit, and contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics. This year's Associate Fellows were honored at the AIAA Associate Fellows Dinner on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, Nashville, Tenn., in conjunction with the 50th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting.

 

This election is a testament to Professor Chen's long standing research contributions in the areas of multiphase flows, spray combustion, turbulence modeling, and aero-optics.  Congratulations to Professor Chen!
