Dear UAH Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to welcome Jennifer Edmonston to The University of Alabama in Huntsville as our new chief human resources officer (CHRO).
Jennifer brings more than 20 years of human resources (HR) leadership experience, with a career focused on supporting people and organizations in complex, mission-driven environments. Most recently, she served as chief human resources officer at Bechtel Plant Machinery, where she led HR strategy for a 1,200-employee workforce supporting the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Her experience covers a broad range of HR areas, including talent management, workforce planning, employee and labor relations, organizational development, total rewards and HR technology. She has also led efforts to strengthen employee engagement, develop future leaders, modernize HR systems and build strong, high-performing teams.
Jennifer started her career with Bechtel in roles focused on employee relations, talent acquisition and HR business partnering before moving into increasingly senior leadership positions. She later led HR for major federal defense programs, including the U.S. Air Force’s Test Operations and Sustainment contract at Arnold Engineering Development Complex.
What stood out to me about Jennifer is the way she connects big-picture strategy with the people who make an organization work. She brings experience navigating complex organizations, but just as importantly, she is a collaborative, approachable leader who understands the value of building strong relationships.
I’m confident Jennifer will be a great addition to our leadership team and our UAH community. Please join me in giving her a warm welcome to UAH. I’m looking forward to the experience and perspective she will bring to our university.
Dr. Kristy Lee
