One goal of ChargerLink is to make routine processes easier and less time-consuming. A great example is how time and absence reporting will work in the future.

CHARGERLINK WIN: Simplifying Time & Absences

Today, all employees submit bi-weekly timesheets, even if they have no leave to report. Managers spend time approving routine timesheets, and Payroll staff manually send reminders and follow-up communications throughout each pay cycle.

With ChargerLink, much of that effort will be reduced through streamlined processes and automation:

For Exempt Employees: In the future, exempt employees will no longer submit bi-weekly timesheets. Instead, they will only enter an absence request when taking leave.

For Supervisors: Supervisors will spend less time reviewing timesheets that simply reflect standard work schedules and more time focusing on leave requests and exceptions when action is needed.

For Non-Exempt and Research Employees: Employees who continue to report time will receive automated notifications when action is needed and when timesheets have been approved.

For Payroll Staff: Many reminder and approval notifications that are currently handled manually will be automated within the system.

WHY IT MATTERS: Even small administrative tasks add up across the university. By simplifying time and absence reporting, ChargerLink will reduce administrative burden, improve efficiency, and create a more streamlined experience for employees across campus.
