Dear UAH Community,
As previously announced, Dr. Ronnie Hebert, Vice President for Student Affairs will be departing UAH in mid-July to become the Vice President for Student Engagement at Georgia State University.
To ensure continuity of operations, we are implementing a few temporary organizational changes within the Student Affairs Division. These interim adjustments will allow us to maintain seamless operations while we assess an organizational structure that best serves our students and aligns with our campus's strategic priorities.
Dr. Dave Puleo, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, will temporarily lead the Division of Student Affairs. There will be two operations groups that will be led by our current Student Affairs leaders and will report to Dr. Puleo. Mrs. Tina McMillion, Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs, will also report to the Provost’s Office.
The following units will continue to report to Mr. Neil McMillion, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs:
- Campus Recreation
- Charger Card Office
- Housing and Residence Life
- Union/Programs/Student Life
- Dining Services and the University Bookstore will report to Mr. McMillion in the interim.
Mr. Scott Royce, Associate Dean of Students, will serve as the Interim Dean of Students. The following functions will continue to report into the Dean of Students office.
- Career Services
- Counseling Center
- Health Services
- Student Ethics & Education
Finally, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Dr. Hebert for his leadership. He has been a valuable partner and a leading voice for our students during his time at UAH.
These changes will be effective on Monday, July 13. Please join me in offering Dr. Puleo, Mr. McMillion and Mr. Royce your full support during this transition period.
Sincerely,
Dr. Donald J. Leo
President
