The Department of Justice announced today that the Title II digital accessibility deadline has been extended by one year.
What does this mean?
While the timeline has shifted, our responsibility has not. Accessibility remains a priority, and continued progress is expected across all areas. This extension provides an opportunity to approach the work thoughtfully and deliberately, without losing the momentum already underway.
What do I need to do?
All faculty and staff are still expected to complete required training by the end of the summer 2026. Faculty should continue to work toward fall course readiness. Workshops and open work hours will be offered throughout the summer to support document remediation efforts and answer your questions.
University Resources
As a reminder, the University's ADA committee and Digital Accessibility Task Force are here to support your efforts. We encourage you to follow established guidance when updating materials. If you are unsure, please reach out for advice before removing or altering content.
Thank you for your continued commitment to creating an accessible digital environment.
