UAH faculty, staff and students,The search for the next dean of the Honors College at The University of Alabama in Huntsville has officially begun. This internal search process is intended to identify an exceptional leader from within our university community who can build on the college's strengths and lead it to continued success.

As chief academic and executive officer of the Honors College, the dean’s primary responsibility is to carry out the mission of the university and the Honors College. The dean leads the college by providing a challenging and nurturing learning environment for Honors students through the use of innovative pedagogy, interdisciplinary curricula and effective advising. Specific areas of responsibility include: student recruitment, engagement and success; leadership and administration; curriculum and faculty development; and fundraising and community partnerships.
At a minimum, candidates for the position must have a terminal degree and hold the rank of associate professor with tenure or higher in one of the university’s academic colleges. Preferably, the successful candidate will have a record demonstrating experience with or the potential to lead in honors pedagogy and honors programming, advancement and fundraising activities, and building community partnerships. 
A search advisory committee has been formed to assist with the process, including defining selection criteria, reviewing applications, conducting interviews and recommending acceptable candidates to my office. Search advisory committee members are:
