We are just one month away from the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk at UAH, and we need your help to make this year’s event our most impactful yet!
You and your departments are invited to join us in raising awareness and supporting suicide prevention efforts.
Last year, we raised $17,847.73 with over 260 registrants for the walk. Our goal is to surpass $20,000 this year, and with your participation, we can make it happen!
Event Details
- Date: Sunday, April 27, 2025
- Location: Charger Union, UAH Campus
- Open Registration: 1:00 PM
- Opening Ceremony: 2:00 PM, followed by the walk
How You Can Get Involved:
- Register for the Walk – Sign up and encourage colleagues, students, and staff to participate. You can register as an individual, create a team for your department, or donate directly to the cause.
- Fundraise for the Cause – Individuals who raise $100 or more will receive an official event T-shirt as a thank-you! Each department or student organization is encouraged to create their own team and compete to raise the most funds.
- Team Fundraising Challenge – The department or student organization whose registered AFSP team raises the most money will win a catered luncheon provided by the University Fitness Center. If your college or organization does not have departmental teams, you are encouraged to participate as a single entity to compete for the luncheon.
- Spread Awareness – Share the attached flyer and sponsorship package to promote this important cause. Deans and Directors should forward this information to department heads so they can begin forming teams. The more people who contribute, the bigger the impact we can make!
- Participate in Fundraising Events - We will have a plethora of upcoming fundraising events on Fridays until the walk day. For more information on our partnership event with SSIG and AFSP checkout this link provided here and below as well as a PDF description of how to participate
Your support truly makes a difference in the fight against suicide.
