Due to the threat of severe weather UAH has implemented the following changes to business operations for Thursday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.

  • All UAH courses will be held in accordance with class contingency plans. No classes will meet on campus after 1 p.m.
  • Supervisors should allow remote work where possible. Do not drive if you determine it is not safe to do so.
  • Starting at 1 p.m., all events during business hours and after business hours will be cancelled.
  • The Early Learning Center is closed the entire day.
  • All buildings with the exception of Morton Hall and Student Services Building will be locked and accessible by keycard access only. Morton Hall and Student Services Building will be unlocked and available for open access to the designated severe weather protective areas in each building.
  • All buildings have a severe weather protective area. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the location of the protective area(s) in your building.

Potential Impacts (National Weather Service Predictions)

  • Strong to severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening.
  • Primary risks with this storm system include tornadoes, damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain.
  • Rainfall forecasts have been increased to 2" to 2.5" with this system.
