ram4logoFive team members of the Research Institute's Reliability and Failure Analysis Lab participated in the Reliability and Maintainability workshop sponsored by the Society of Reliability Engineers and the Engineering Directorate.

The student session included participants from a number of universities. Scholarships were awarded to the winning participants with five of our own students receiving scholarships. First place was awarded to Greg Doud for his presentation on "Material Strength Reliability of an E-Glass Composite". Other scholarship recipients from RFAL included Charles Boyles, Zachary Johnson, Nathan Rigoni, and Daniel Sillivant.

This was the first time for many of these students to give formal presentations to a professional audience. During the question and answer session, each student demonstrated knowledge and understanding of their research. It was during this session that Greg took his subject to a higher level impressing the audience and showing the relevance of his research conducted here at the lab.

RFAL continues to provide opportunities and training to advance the knowledge and experience of our students by conducting research relative to the reliability engineering discipline. This makes us a key player in work force development for companies around the world including Huntsville's own, Team Redstone.
