Project Management for Procurement Specialists

Learn basic project management information pointing toward subcontracting venues, but keeping in mind that project management has the same components to consider at any contracting level. Understand project management flow related to subcontracts from project beginning to end. Learn to analyze requirements and deliverables that the customer wants the seller to provide through a contract or purchase order. Grasp requirements analysis and associated documentation such as statements of work, specifications, and data requirements lists. Learn their impact on project planning. Planning includes development of a work breakdown structure (WBS) or work package. Discover how to measure against the baseline plans to determine project management progress, or the lack thereof, during contract performance. Learn the importance of earned value, a more recent addition to project performance measurement.
