NASA Badging Procedures

NASA BADGE REQUIREMENT:

If you are supporting a NASA Contract and you require access to the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) facilities on a recurring and continuing basis (at least three times per week), you may be eligible to obtain a MSFC Contractor Badge. The procedures for this access are below:

 

NASA/MSFC Forms:

If your only requirement is to access the NSSTC Building (Cramer Hall) with no MSFC Badge or Remote MSFC IT then you will need to complete the two forms below.  Along with the forms you will need a copy of citizenship, this can be one of the following: birth certificate or passport ONLY.

Once the forms are completed contact the Office of Research Security for signature and approval of the form.

For all NON-U.S. citizens please contact the International Student and Scholar office (ISSO) for signature prior to Office of Research Security. Our office will be your last stop.

 

NON U.S. CITIZENS PLEASE COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING: Non U.S. Citizen.

ALL U.S. CITIZENS AND PERMANENT RESIDENTS COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:U.S. Citizen

For the individuals requiring MSFC Badge, Remote IT Access, or both please complete the following forms and contact Office of Research Security for an appointment to process this request. Contact ORS at 256-824-6444 or 256-824-6048.

Complete these 2 forms (along with the appropriate form above):

- NASA Form 1574 Privacy Act

- NASA Form 1760 Risk Designation

 

NASA TERMINATION REQUIREMENT:

For individuals who no longer require a NASA badge please visit NASA’s Integrated Service Management located at: https://nism.ndc.nasa.gov and complete an Employee Clearance Request. If you are a remote user, make sure you have already signed into MSFC’s VPN prior to accessing the website. See the below document for tutorial. After you have completed the Employee Clearance Request, please go to the following locations:

  • RSIC (Building 4484, 3rd Floor) if you have any books checked out
  • ACES (ITM/OITM) to turn in any government issued cell phone, pager, PDAs
  • CIO (Building 4200, Rm 522A or 526C) if you have a Secure (RSA) ID Token
  • Organization Key Coordinator if you have been issued any government keys
  • Badging Office (Building 4312) to turn in your badge

Once you have turned in your NASA Badge, please let the UAH Office of Research Security know and submit copies of any forms you may have received during this process.

PRIOR TO ANY TYPE OF NASA ACCESS THE ON-LINE EXPORT CONTROL TRAINING MUST BE COMPLETED.
