Jane Deneefe, who received a history degree from UAH, has published a book on the history of rock and soul music in Huntsville in the 1950s and 1960s. The book uses oral history techniques and offers insights not only on the history of music, but also of mass culture, celebrity, mass media, militarization, urbanization.
