Read any good books lately? How about getting to talk to a book?!

Join AshaKiran, City of Huntsville Office of Multicultural Affairs, the University of Alabama in Huntsville Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and the Huntsville-Madison County Public Libraries as they host The Human Library event that will take place at 6PM - 8PM in the Conference Training Center (CTC) at the University of Alabama in Huntsville campus. It is open to the public although it is strongly encouraged for those 18 years of age and older due to the variety of human book topics.

Born in Copenhagen in 2000, the Human Library™ is a worldwide movement aiming to facilitate understanding and challenge harmful stereotypes through one-on-one, 15 minute open dialogues. Human Library books are real people with critical perspectives to share, sharing the goals of raising awareness and spreading compassion. Seven Huntsville community members will address such complex topics as faith, sexuality, and women’s rights and have volunteered to share their unique perspectives and give the reader a chance to learn more about their life as well as the challenges and stereotypes that they have overcome or face.

Keep up with the latest The Human Library HSV info on the Facebook page and/or event as they share updates and all of the ‘human books’ that will be available for readers to ‘check out’ at the event! Unite against division with us on October 10!
