Chemical Engineering as a profession is diverse and serves a wide gamut of industries from the chemical and biotechnology industries to the electronics, environmental, biomedical and energy sectors, and consulting to policy and law.
The undergraduate curriculum for an accredited degree in chemical engineering at the University of Alabama Huntsville ensures a fundamental understanding of thermodynamics, separations, transport phenomena, and reaction engineering to permit the design of processes which enable large-scale production of a variety of products. In addition, the curriculum also offers two-tracks for specialization at the undergraduate level, a Material Science and a Biotechnology track.
Our students take advantage of the numerous internship opportunities that fortune 500 companies in Huntsville have to offer. Huntsville is home to NASA-Marshall, Redstone Arsenal, Teledyne and other government contracting agencies.
Our graduate students are involved in the research areas of immunoengineering, catalysis, surface science, advanced material design and cellular and tissue engineering.
