The UAHuntsville Cooperative Education Program (Co-op) is an academic program that offers qualified students the opportunity to gain practical work experience while earning a degree. Students work in business, industry or government jobs directly related to their fields of study. This professional experience gives UAHuntsville Co-ops a head-start during school and at graduation.
Co-op students supplement their education with practical work experiences. Students gain paid, progressive responsibilities specifically related to their academic major. All degree-seeking students enrolled at UAHuntsville are eligible to apply to the Co-op Program. Follow the links on the left menu for details and application information.

The mission of the department of Cooperative Education is to integrate meaningful work experiences within the pursuit of a degree from UAHuntsville. Co-op is the coordinating body that brings together employers and students so that students are better prepared to enter the workplace at graduation.

Melissa Jean, an acquisitions management major working for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, is the 2008 UAHuntsville Co-op Student of the Year.
Melissa is eligible for the Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers student award and the national award issued by the Cooperative Education and Internship Association. We had an outstanding group of students recognized by their employers for this year's award.
Congratulations, Melissa, and all our candidates for an exceptional competition!
