Written by: Drew Hartt Yarbrough August 30, 2023 Dr. Paras Bhatt recently joined The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business (COB) as an Assistant Professor of Information Systems. His research explores how artificial intelligence techniques can be employed to critically analyze cybersecurity threats utilizing data collected from social media and dark web platforms. Some of his works have focused on the role of user privacy and surveillance, and the multi-dimensional impact of different types of cyber threat incidents. Dr. Bhatt says he is excited to be a part of the UAH COB as the college’s research and teaching are situated at the confluence of technology and management domains, both of which are essential in the current cybersecurity landscape. He says the experienced faculty profile, academic resources and student-focused learning in the COB provide him with an exciting avenue to develop, pursue and implement state-of-the-art cybersecurity teaching and research, resulting in a positive impact on the students and community. During the Fall 2023 semester, Dr. Bhatt will be teaching Advanced Programming and Networking & IT Infrastructure. Dr. Bhatt obtained his doctoral degree in information technology from The University of Texas at San Antonio. He earned his Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Business Administration and IT from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University.
