At Honors Day on April 5, the College of Business presented Ezeriki Emetonjor with the Departmental Honors Award in Economics.

Emetonjor, an economics and computational analysis student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), was pleased to accept her award and spoke briefly about her work: “I remember working extra hard particularly during my freshman and sophomore years when college was still extremely new to me … I just always worked hard so I could be satisfied with my own work and to make my family proud of me.”

As a student in the College of Business, Emetonjor has enjoyed learning about a variety of topics within her major, particularly those covered in her upper level economics courses. She was also appreciative of the college overall, expressing that she “Felt that the college actually cares about its students succeeding and actively takes actions to improve its experience.”

Emetonjor is also a senior resident assistant at UAH’s Frank Franz Hall and a research assistant working alongside Dr. Brinda Mahalingam. After graduating, Emetonjor plans to continue her career as a business analyst at PIMCO, an investment management company.
