Fall 2023 Audition Information

UAH Theatre is holding auditions for its mainstage production of Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, a drama that revisions the Dracula story, written by Kate Hamill, and directed by Joey Watson. 

  • Auditions for Theatre Majors are on Monday, November 13, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Morton Hall Blackbox Theatre. 
  • Auditions for Non-Majors are on Tuesday, November 14, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Morton Hall Blackbox Theatre.

Prepare one 1-minute dramatic or comedic monologue from any period. Callbacks will be cold-reading scenes from the play.

Callbacks will be on Wednesday, November 15 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Morton Hall Blackbox Theatre. 

Theatre majors should complete this form AND sign up for an audition appointment time using the posted link at the bottom of this form or on the Digital Callboard.

Dracula needs 9 total actors, 5 of whom can play female-presenting characters, 3 of whom can play male-presenting characters, and 1 actor of any gender presentation. 

Content Warning: This production contains blood, stage weapons, and staged physical violence. The show also includes references to and depictions of domestic violence and suicide.

Specific Intimacy Notes: This production contains staged, intimate coordination. "Glamor" in this context is in reference to vampire mythology, such as when vampires can control the minds and actions of their prey. Dracula is represented as a toxic abuser throughout the show.
