Written by: RSESC April 28, 2025 Jerry Hendrix, Executive Director of RSESC and leader in Autonomous Aerospace Research at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, had the honor of briefing Congress on the future of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for the Department of Homeland Security earlier this month.In his testimony, Hendrix highlighted the importance of DHS-focused innovations; clear and controllable airspace, and special provisions for training, exercises, and operations. He emphasized that UAH is committed to advancing drone technology to protect citizens, support our soldiers and agents, aid in disaster recovery, and ultimately save lives.
