HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (March 16, 2012) — The University of Alabama in Huntsville is joining the city of Huntsville’s celebration of Wernher von Braun’s 100^th birth date.

            “Wernher von Braun: A Visionary’s Influence on UAHuntsville” will be the theme of the event on Thursday, March 22 at the M. Louis Salmon Library.

            Frederick Ordway, Dave Christensen and Chuck Lundquist will discuss Dr. von Braun’s interest in education as well as his successful efforts at encouraging the state of Alabama to create a research institute at UAHuntsville.
