UAH Office of Student Life hosts 2017 Leadership Conference

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Office of Student Life is hosting the 2017 Student Leadership Conference on Saturday, Jan.14, from 10 a.m., to 3 p.m., as a part of Week of Welcome. This conference will provide students with the opportunity to attend multiple presentations on various leadership topics, such as: goal setting, leadership styles, getting involved, networking, public speaking, time management/organization, budgeting, event planning, team building, organizational leadership, interviewing, community and advocacy, mentoring, and more. Students will improve personally and professionally.

UAH faculty, staff, student leaders and organizations, and alumni should submit session proposals here:

Conference sessions can be either 30 minutes or 45 minutes in length. Each presentation should be as interactive as possible. Program Proposals must be submitted by Monday, Jan. 2. Lunch will be included. All faculty, staff, student leaders and organizations, and alumni need to be present for the duration of the conference. Your presentation may be selected to appear more than once in the schedule.

In addition, the Office of Student Life will also feature keynote speaker, Matt Glowacki, a motivational speaker and a wheelchair bound athlete. He will be using his presentation to deliver his uplifting message related to stereotypes and prejudices. Born without any legs, Glowacki travels the country delivering his message and inspiring younger audiences to break stereotypes and look beyond people’s differences.
